Jay Sarno, Mayor

In 2013, Mayor Sarno was first elected to the City Council and was appointed to Mayor in 2018. In 2020, he was elected to the Council for his second term and was appointed to Mayor Pro Tem in 2023.  Mayor Sarno has lived in Santa Fe Springs since 1973. He attended the local schools of Lakeview Elementary, Lake Center Middle School, and graduated from Santa Fe High School. Mayor Sarno is the owner of C J Concrete Construction; a family-run Santa Fe Springs-based construction company, which he has run for the past 30 years. Mayor Sarno has been actively supportive of local schools and sports programs in the community. During his service on the Council, he has served as delegate to Gateway Cities Council of Governments, League of California Cities, as well as alternate liaison to the Chamber of Commerce Economic Development, among others. Mayor Sarno is happily married to his wife Christina and enjoys raising their two children in the City.
