Water Conservation Plan, Phase I
Extreme drought now covers nearly 80% of the State & these conditions will likely continue into the foreseeable future. The Governor's emergency regulations target outdoor urban water use & call upon all to conserve water usage by 20%. In order to comply, the Santa Fe Springs City Council adopted a resolution that implements the following:

 A. There shall be no hose washing of walkways, driveways or parking areas except as needed for sanitary or safety purposes.

 B. Water shall not be used to clean, fill or maintain levels of decorative fountains, unless a recirculating system is used.  

 C. Restaurants or other public places where food is served or offered fir sale, shall not serve drinking water to any customer, unless expressly requested.

 D. Lawns & landscape areas shall not watered between 10:00 am & 4:00 pm. All water leaks shall be repaired promptly.

CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION Guidelines

New Ordinance
As a result of the concerns regarding California's landfill capacity, the State requires the City to develop programs that divert recyclable waste from our local landfills. On September 14, 2000, the Santa Fe Springs City Council adopted Ordinance No. 914 amending Chapter 50 of the Municipal Code by adding new provisions for the recycling and disposal of construction, demolition and renovation debris.

ORDINANCE NO. 914 REQUIREMENTS
