| Santa Fe Springs Recognized as Playful City USA The City of Santa Fe Springs was recently recognized by KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to saving play, for increasing opportunities for play for children in the community. Presented by The Humana Foundation, Playful City USA is a national program advocating for local policies that increase play opportunities for children.
Santa Fe Springs is proud to be one of 213 cities and towns in the nation, to be recognized for these efforts. "Santa Fe Springs has long been known as the City of parks, and now we are proud to add the moniker of Playful City USA. Creating and maintaining a healthy community is one of our top priorities. The City goes to great lengths to ensure that the children of our community have access to parks, playgrounds and other recreation areas, which provides them opportunities to stay fit, healthy, and ready to learn." stated Santa Fe Springs Mayor Bill Rounds.
This designation supports the City's commitment in taking an active role in sustaining the healthy development of the children of Santa Fe Springs. The City encourages families in the community to take advantage of the many parks, green spaces, and playgrounds available for play, and make play a priority in their lives.
