Library Cards
Any California resident with proof of current address can apply for a library card. P.O. Box numbers by themselves are not considered acceptable proof of address. Children under 17 must have the signature of a parent or guardian. The Santa Fe Springs City Library card is also valid at the Downey City Library.

Loan Periods

Most library materials are checked out for three weeks; videos and some other items are checked out for one week.


Santa Fe Springs City Library's Mission

The Library provides qualified staff, materials, and services in a variety of formats to meet the personal, educational and professional needs of two diverse groups within the community:

Residents of all ages, educational levels, and ethnic backgrounds and
Employees of businesses in the City.

The Santa Fe Springs Library supports literacy for people of all ages
and is committed to supporting persons not proficient in English in a friendly, non-threatening atmosphere. The Library is the cultural center of the City and takes a leadership role in exposing children and young adults to fine arts and humanities.
