History

In March 1961, the new Santa Fe Springs City Library became the first of the civic center buildings to open its doors. Since that time, it has been in the forefront of providing residents with a wide variety of services and cultural events.

The Library has been the recipient of two awards for Outstanding Achievement in connection with the First Friday cultural event series: The 2002 Helen Putnam Award from the California League of Cities; and the Highsmith Award from the Public Library Association.
