Gang activity and related issues have increased over the past few years and the City Council directed Services staff to develop a prevention program to address this problem and related issues. The FYIP staff under the direction of Dr. Lopez have realigned successful intervention actions from the earlier Community Intervention Program into the Family and Youth Intervention Program. Any youth who exhibit high-risk behaviors will be redirected toward a healthy development path as successful contributors to the community through key program components.
