Community Involvement

For the convenience of persons interested in serving on a City Committee, Commission or Board, further information and application forms are maintained in the City Council Office located in City Hall.

  • Beautification Committee
    Advises the City Council on policy matters concerning beautification projects/events of the City of Santa Fe Springs.
  • Community Program Committee
    Plans and coordinates programs for the education and/or entertainment of the residents of Santa Fe Springs.
  • Family and Human Services Advisory Committee
    Advises the City Council on social service programs designed to meet the needs of the citizenry.
  • General Plan & Community Development Advisory Committee
    Assists in developing information to provide citizen input related to the City's General Plan and the City's Community Development Program.
  • Historical Committee
    Collects and preserves factual data and memorabilia relative to the history of Santa Fe Springs.
  • Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
    Advises the City Council on programs that best meet the recreational needs of the community; assists in policy formation regarding conservation and recreational activities.
  • Personnel Advisory Board
    Investigates and/or hears appeals submitted by a City employee.
  • Planning Commission
    Studies, approves and recommends to the City Council the adoption of a General Plan Guide; considers and acts upon requests for Zone Changes and Conditional Use Permits; approves Tentative Parcel and Subdivision Maps for the division of land in the City.
  • Senior Citizens Advisory Committee
    Plans and conducts projects that will foster mutual understanding between the senior citizens and the City Council in order to improve the wellbeing of senior citizens in Santa Fe Springs.
  • Sister City Committee
    Plans and conducts projects which foster goodwill and understanding between the citizenry of two designated Sister Cities: Navojoa, Mexico; and Tirschenreuth, Germany.
  • Traffic Commission
    Serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters relating to traffic control and public safety.
  • Youth Leadership Committee
    Fosters the development of a strong instructional component concentrating on developing civic and political participation; advises the City Council on matters affecting youth.
