Luis M. González, Mayor Pro-Tem
Luis (Louie) González was first elected to the Santa Fe Springs City Council in 1997. He served as Mayor from 2001-2002, and again in 2005-2006.
Louie was born and raised in the community and is a graduate of Santa Fe High School. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History from California State University, Fullerton; Master's Degree in Education from Walden University.
Prior to his election to the City Council, Louie served as a Trustee to the Little Lake City School Board. He is a former President of the Association of Mexican American Educators - Little Lake Chapter, former Vice-President of the League of United Latin American Citizens #2859, and member of the Knights of Columbus #3678.
Along with his many councilmember duties, Louie teaches 4th grade in the Norwalk-La Mirada School District. He is Co-Chair of the St. Pius X Fiesta Committee, and coaches girls basketball.
Louie is married and the father of three daughters.
