Richard J. Moore, Councilmember 

Richard J. Moore was elected to serve his second term on the City Council in November of 2013, after being appointed in 2010 to fill the City Council position vacated by the retirement of longtime Councilmember Betty Putnam. Councilman Moore is a longtime resident and, until this appointment, was a Planning Commissioner. Councilman Moore is a former elected member of the Little Lake City School District Board of Education. He has also been a retired municipal employee serving in management positions with the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the City of Carson. In addition, he served for six years as a reserve officer for the Monterey Park Police Department.

Richard and his wife Pauline have two sons and two daughters.

William K. Rounds, Councilmember

William (Bill) K. Rounds is serving his second term as a City Councilmember since being elected in November 2007.

Bill was born in Concord, Massachusetts, moving to Santa Fe Springs with his parents in 1951. He attended local schools, graduating from Santa Fe High in 1968.

Prior to his election to the City Council, Bill served as a Santa Fe Springs Planning Commissioner for nine years. He has been an active member of the Parks and Recreation, Santa Float, Rose Parade Float, Safe Neighborhood Team and 50th Anniversary Celebration Committees as well as a former Coach and Boardmember for the Metropolitan Little League.

Bill and his wife, Jennifer, have four adult children and six grandchildren.

Jay Sarno, Councilmember

Elected November 5, 2013, Jay Sarno is serving his first term on the Santa Fe Springs City Council.  

Councilmember Sarno was born in the Bronx, New York and moved to Santa Fe Springs in 1973.  He attended the local schools of Lakeview Elementary, Lake Center Middle School, and graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1988.  He has been married to his wife Christina for six years.

Councilmember Sarno has been supportive of local schools and is currently serving on the Little Lake City School District’s Foundation.  Jay is owner of C J Concrete Construction; a family-run Santa Fe Springs-based construction company, which Jay has run for the past 13 years.
